The Ivy Foundation is devoted to empowering the next generation of healthcare professionals by offering scholarships and comprehensive support to individuals seeking assistance in entering the healthcare profession. We understand the challenges involved, but if you’re willing to put in the effort, we’re here to help cover your tuition costs, enabling you to attain your healthcare certification, such as Medical Assisting or Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA). We acknowledge the unique obstacles faced by certain communities, and our goal is to alleviate the financial burden and provide the necessary resources for individuals determined to achieve their educational and professional aspirations in healthcare.

Scholarship Application Requirements
Each year, The Ivy Foundation generously awards a total of six scholarships for healthcare-related certification programs. Among these scholarships, three recipients will receive a sum of $7000 each, while an additional three individuals will be awarded $3,000 each. These scholarships serve as a testament to the Foundation’s unwavering commitment to empowering the next generation of aspiring healthcare professionals and alleviating the financial burdens they face on their educational journey.

Commitment to Healthcare Education
Commitment to Healthcare Education: We seek individuals who are passionate about entering the healthcare profession and have a clear vision of their educational and professional aspirations. You must submit a personal statement outlining your motivation for pursuing a healthcare career, including your specific goals, how you plan to contribute to the field, and why financial support from The Ivy Foundation is crucial in achieving these aspirations.
Academic Potential:
Academic Potential: We value academic excellence and the potential for success in healthcare education. You must provide your academic transcripts or records from your most recent educational institution. While we understand that academic performance is not the sole determinant of success, we use this information to evaluate your commitment and ability to excel in healthcare studies.
Community Involvement:
Community Involvement: We appreciate individuals who actively engage with their communities and demonstrate a commitment to making a positive impact. You must provide details about your involvement in community service, volunteer work, or any healthcare-related activities that highlight your dedication to serving others and improving community well-being.
Recommendation Letters
Recommendation Letters: We require ONE letter of recommendation from an individual who can attest to your character, work ethic, and potential as a healthcare professional. These individuals may include teachers, professors, a pastor, employers, or community leaders who can provide insights into your abilities and potential.

Grandma Ivy, a remarkable woman with an indomitable spirit, left an indelible mark on those who were fortunate enough to know her. Born and raised in Jamaica, she dedicated her life to educating the young minds of her community as a passionate teacher. However, retirement was never an option for Grandma Ivy. In her seventies, she embarked on an extraordinary journey, leaving behind the familiar comforts of her homeland to pursue a new calling in Chicago: nursing.
Undeterred by age or the challenges that lay ahead, she fearlessly enrolled in nursing school, determined to become a nurse supervisor. Grandma Ivy’s unwavering belief in the power of hard work, dedication, and tenacity served as a guiding light in her pursuit of success. Her inspiring story reminds us all that with unwavering commitment, a thirst for knowledge, and the courage to take that first step, triumph awaits just beyond the horizon. Though Grandma Ivy is no longer with us, her legacy of resilience and the pursuit of dreams will forever inspire generations to come.
